The Big Splash of Love.
One of the main theories concerning the formation of the moon is that an astronomical body collided with earth. The biggest part of that astronomical body was absorbed by the earth but earth itself lost a significant amount of materials which was released into space. This mass of materials created a ring around earth which with the passage of time became one solid body, the moon. Thenceforth, moon revolves around earth. As I am not an astronomer I conceive this theory as one of the saddest unfulfilled love stories. When two people are in love one solid body is created thanks to their bond. But difficulties like Theia, are meant to rouse, but not necessarily to cause rapture. But even so obstacles might seem insuperable and can cause disruption. When this happens the concrete body of their love is wounded and the one body becomes two. But love won't let them get completely separated. The one body will be doomed to revolve eternally around the other. The passage of time forces them to gradually become more and more distant and widens the gap between them, as it happens with earth and moon. But still the one is compelled to be around the other because the one is part of the other.
